Freak the Mighty, Chapter 14

The following are comprehension activities related to the novel Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, chapter 14. NOTE: Keep reading fun! Don't do all of these for every chapter! In fact, this might be a good chapter to skip "comprehension exercises" and just keep reading to see what happens.

2. Vocabulary Word Part: Bio

Bio is found in many scientific words. It means living, or life. Freak says "Biogenic intervention" will help him; he means ways that the doctors will generate life -- give him a new body.

Complete the exercises for any four words in the Bio word parts exercise (click on the link to get there).

3. Conflict: This short chapter has several conflicts, of different kinds. What are the four kinds of conflicts?
What are examples of two different kinds of conflict in this chapter?

4. Character Analysis

We see a different side of Max's grandfather's character in this paragraph. He and Gram actually shout. Complete a SADDR character description using actions and quotes and descriptions from this chapter.
