Reading is fundamental to learning, so when someone is having trouble learning how to read, it’s time to invest in the right tool for building up reading skills. Often, that includes the skills and attention of a tutor — but reading specialists often can’t spend every day with the student. Tandem Reading can be used alone, or to bridge the gaps between tutoring sessions by providing a structure for the daily practice crucial for mastering reading skills.

The toolkit comes complete with comprehensive guidelines, journal templates, logs for measuring progress and tips for creating word lists tailored to your child or student’s specific needs. Tandem Reading is organized around syllable patterns commonly used in multi-sensory structured language programs (such as Orton-Gillingham) that help unlock the reading code.

The kit also includes pencils — a key to a vital Tandem Reading technique called pencil reading — as well as a highlighter and a reading award ribbon, to honor work well done.
